Label Distribution
and Management

Want to start your own record label, or already have one and need support? Let us know. We tailor deals to suit each label, whether you're after distribution only or full label management. With over 15 years of experience running record labels, we put that knowledge to work for you.

Two Ways
To Work With Us

Both are negotiated per label. Neither is a template.

Distribution only

You run the label. We handle delivery, the stores, the codes and the accounting. Your catalog stays yours, your release schedule stays yours, and you keep the relationships you have built.

• Delivery to every major store plus the DJ stores
• ISRC and UPC codes supplied on every release
• Monthly statements and payouts through your label portal
• Optional add-on: artist portals, and we pay your roster directly

Full label management

For labels who want the running of it taken off their hands. We do the scheduling, the chasing, the artwork and the promo, and you stay across all of it in the portal.

• Release scheduling and deadline management
• Artwork, mastering and pre-save links arranged for you
• Promo and DSP pitching handled by our team
• A&R and release strategy input where you want it

What We Handle

The work that sits between finishing a record and getting paid for it.

Delivery and stores

Every release goes to the major streaming services and, for electronic music, to the DJ stores that matter. We supply the ISRC and UPC codes, run a manual quality check on the audio and metadata, and fix problems before a store rejects them.

Accounting and payouts

Statements land in your label portal every month, broken down by release and by artist, and payouts are requested from the same place. Paying your roster stays with you. If you would rather not run that side of it, opt in to our label accounting: your artists get their own portals and we pay them directly.

Promo and pitching

Our own Inflyte promo reaches the DJs who play this music, and for bigger campaigns we bring in agency partners. DSP pitching is handled by our team on 50/50 and label deals.

Release infrastructure

Pre-save smart links, release-day delivery to our own channels, artwork and mastering when you need them. The unglamorous parts that eat a release week.

How Onboarding Works

From first conversation to first release.

  1. Tell us about the label

What you release, how often, and where your catalog sits today. New labels and established ones are both welcome.

  2. We agree terms

Terms are set per label rather than off a price list, because a label putting out one record a year and one putting out one a fortnight are not the same business.

  3. Onboarding and catalog migration

If you are moving from another distributor we help bring the back catalog across, reusing your existing codes so your streams and links survive the move.

  4. Portal access

You get a label portal covering the whole catalog: releases, monthly statements, balance and payouts. Your artists do not get their own portals, because paying the roster stays with the label. That only changes if you opt in to our label accounting, and then we account to each artist directly and they get a portal of their own.

  5. First release goes out

Submit through the portal, we check it, and it goes to the stores. From there it is the same process every time.

Where Your Music Goes

Every major store, plus the DJ stores for electronic releases.

Delivered to all 66 stores and platforms, every release.

Questions
Labels Ask

What does it cost?

Label terms are negotiated rather than fixed, so the answer depends on your catalog, your release rate and how much of the work you want us doing. Tell us what you are putting out and we will come back with something specific.

Do we keep ownership of our masters?

On a distribution deal, yes. Nothing about distributing with us moves ownership.

Can we bring our back catalog across?

Yes, and we help with it. The one thing to know is that you must be out of contract with your current distributor before we can redeliver it. We reuse your existing ISRC and UPC codes so streaming history and existing links stay intact, so make sure you send us complete metadata for each track and release.

How do our artists see their money?

The label is still responsible for paying its artists, unless you want Decypher to look after your accounting. That can be negotiated when we set up your label deal.

Do you supply ISRC and UPC codes?

Yes, both, at no extra cost. We are an ARIA registered code holder, so codes are issued from our own registrant prefix. If you already have codes for a release we use yours instead.

What genres do you take?

All of them. Our roots are in electronic music and that is where the DJ store delivery and the promo network are strongest, but the distribution side is genre agnostic.
